BMW Z1 Art Car by A.R. Penck E30 1991 wallpapers and prices
Introduced in BMW Z1 Art 1988, the Z1 was not initially planned for production. BMW built it as a design study to test certain components of the next generation 3 series (the 1991 E36) especially it's advanced "Z-axle" independent rear suspension.
The Z1 also had an advanced carbon fibre and steel chassis with a glassfibre body, complete with doors which retracted down into the sills when open. The car could be driven with the doors lowered, giving it a "beach buggy" feel.
