10% increase in Iran’s auto production

The acting director of Saipa Automotive Manufacturing Group here on Wednesday said vehicle production in Iran this calendar year ( starting March 21) will increase by 10 percent.

The Mehr News Agency quoted Mohammad-Reza Roshani Moghadam saying that Iranian automakers have entered a new stage of designing and technical proficiency.

Made in UAE: A six-passenger, solar-power vehicle

A six-passenger, solar-power vehicle designed by Tarek Al Zubair, currently an 11th grade high school student at the International Science and Art School in Dubai. The car can travel 90 km on fully-charged cells and has a top speed of 40 kph. Mr. Zubair was commended by His Excellency Mr. Hanif Hassan, the UAE Minister of Education, for his work on this and other solar projects.

9th International Motor Show in Mashhad

The 9th International Motor Show will be held from August 4 to 8 at the Mashhad International Fairground.

Mashhad International Fairground General Manager Seyyed Mohammad Seyyedi said on late Thursday that 200 companies will take part in the exhibition, the Mehr News Agency reported.

Iran manufactures almost 400,000 vehicles in 4 months

In the four-month period ending on July 22, 2009, 397,165 motor vehicles were manufactured by the public and private sectors in Iran.

In the Iranian calendar month of Tir (June 22-July 22) 106,644 motor vehicles were produced in the country.
